THE GHOST IN YOUR SMILE
By far, the thing that grabbed me was the "chorus", if that's what you'd call it. Skavhellen defies normal songwriting and says it like it is. He doesn't try to get cute with puns and rhymes but sticks to the good ol' metaphor to get the point across, and I think you can call that a success.
This isn't your grandma and mother's song, and this isn't their girl either. Gone are the days when mom stayed home and raised the kids. Gone are the days when the man came home to his lady dressed in selofane, ready with a drink and dinner. Whether you like that or not doesn't matter, cause it is what it is so it's high time we fall in line and fall in love with the "Working Girl". I especially enjoyed the play on "Let me get the door for ya"...I see what you did there!
GOOD TO YOU
You know, every once in a while you need a little 50s-style doo wop a la the Penguins in '54. I see it as my 2016 version of "Earth Angel" and if you're a fan snap, slide, and pivot move, this will be your jam for sure!
